To Meet Rose Flower Sea in Bajie Town

Bajie Town is located in the southwest of Anning, Kunming City, about 36 kilometers away from Anning. At an altitude of 1940 meters and an average annual temperature of 14.8℃, it is an ideal place for planting pollution-free edible roses. Bajie Town has been cultivating roses since the 1950s and 1960s, with an area of nearly 10,000 mu. It is the main planting base for edible roses in Yunnan Province.

The cultivation of edible roses on Bajie Town has become a unique tourist card in Yunnan. The splendid sea of roses will send you a beautiful scenery on time. The peaceful valley is full of fuchsia roses. When the breeze blows through, and the fragrant flowers scent will make you feel really relaxed.

How is it enough to just look at flowers? The roses in Bajie Town can not only be seen, but also eaten! And there are more different ways to eat! Flower cakes, dried roses, rose sauce, rose soap, rose wine, etc., of course, there is a table feast of roses.

 

 

Rose Flower Cake

Every year from April to May is the best time to pick rose flower. Start pick in the early morning to around 9 o’clock. After 9am the temperature begin to raise, the aroma of rose flower will volatilize, will affect the quality of flower. The picked roses are then manually screened and store in freezer or transport by refrigerated trucks to factory for process. To make Rose Flower Cake the first important step is to make the filling. Crashed petals to mud then add honey and sugar, put into refrigerated , to reduce bitterness.The best flavour is all coming from the rose filling.

 

Rose Banquet

The Bafangyuan Restaurant in Bajie Town uniquely launched a banquet of edible roses. The restaurant not only focuses on the taste of dishes, but each dish also has a unique presentation. After five years of experience accumulation, the Rose Banquet has been perfect. In addition, the roses in the ingredients are all fresh and used, so every dish is full of fragrance.
