The latest development in Kunming offers buyers/residents access to a Waterfall Park created by two large lakes on two levels, one of which presumably owes its existence to the soil excavated from the site.

Half of the population of Kunming went to take a look at this great sight when it was officially open to public on 1 January. The waterfall is perhaps the only one in an urban environment in the world.

The 32-hectare park composed of two manmade lakes is a massive engineering marvel, taking 3 years to complete. The park makes full use of the water resources of the Niulanjiang River and its water coverage is two times that of the Green Lake in the city centre. The waterfall inside is 400 metres wide with a drop difference of nearly 13 metres so is quite a sight. 

It is also the only waterfall where one can take a short walk to the upper lake and get a view of the waterfall from behind!

How to go there?

(1)-The park is on the opposite of the real estate project Honey Place (Tian Yu Lan Shan)

(2)-Take metro line No. 2, stop at Sijiaying; then public bus No. Z1, stop at Yunnan Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
