As part of China's national railway network, Kunming is connected by railways to major Chinese cities including Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xiamen, Zhengzhou, Nanning, Xi’an, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Guiyang, Changsha and Hangzhou etc.

 

Available trains services to other parts of Yunnan from Kunming include Dali, Chuxiong, Lijiang, Yuxi, Jianshui, and Hekou (bordering Vietnam) etc. 

 

Railway Station of Kunming

Kunming Railway Station is about four kilometers away from the center of Kunming City. It takes 15 minutes by taxi and costs about ten Yuan. You can also get to the station by public buses.

Note: Kunming North Railway Station is not in service as it has now been converted into a spacious Train Museum housing some classic steam trains and is definitely worth a visit.
